DJ Reapers Software Manual

Inital text by Alan, translated by Reef Rangers [draft 4, do not post]

DJ Reapers requires a PocketStation or a PocketStation emulator. This manual will guide you on how to download and setup your emulator to play DJ Reapers. Afterwards, the manual will discuss how the game will be played.

Downloading for Emulators

You will need the NO$GBA emulator (Ver. 2.7+) as well as the PocketStation BIOS and the DJ Reapers ROMs. Please note that the PocketStation BIOS must be renamed to POCKSTAT.ROM or the emulator will not be able to boot the games.

If you are not sure what you need or where to get them, this link is a precompiled archive of all three of those things. If you wish to use your own NO$GBA emulator, make sure the POCKSTAT.ROM file is copied to the directory where your emulator resides in.

Running the game

To run the game, you will need to drag and drop the ROM files into the NO$GBA exe file.

Please note that, if you're using a brand new installation of NO$GBA, the system will immediately start with a loud startup noise. The volume can be changed via the emulator settings. The archive we have provided has had the settings changed to lower the volume a drastic amount.

Playing the game

When you drop the ROM into the emulator, the emulator will startup to the game's icon.

The PocketStation controls are simple. The arrow keys are for the directional buttons and the Enter key is for the ENTER key on the PocketStation. The controls for the game are listed below.

When seeing the game's icon, press the ENTER key to start the game. The song will immediately play. Please note that pressing LEFT or RIGHT will move you away from the icon. If you see a menu showing the time and other settings, press left or right again and you should see the game icon again.

Once the game has started, you will be greeted to a screen similar to this.

The following is a description of each object on screen:

Animation: Animated character. Depending on how well you're doing, the animation will speed up.

Score: The number of points you have accumulated.

Left Note: Note that is registered for the left lane. When it reaches the Judge Line, press the LEFT key.

Right Note: Note that is registered for the right lane. When it reaches the Judge Line, press the ENTER key.

Judge Line: The line which shows the limit of a note. If a note touches this line, press the corresponding key for that note.

Judgement: The ranking for the timing of the note you just pressed. GREAT judgements give off the most points, while MISS gives no points.

After the song is over, the score will be tallied based on the amount of judgements you have recieved. If you managed to reach above the song's goal, you win!
